First, a big thank you to everyone who has already signed up to help, especially the early mornings!
However, we are asking for more volunteers to help make this Tournament a success for the Club. Ideally you can give 3 hours of your time, but if you can only manage an hour or so we would still like to hear from you; many hands make light work and all that.
Please remember that all the profit made goes directly into the club’s bursary fund, giving support to children who may not otherwise have access to tennis or squash coaching.
With my ‘member who has volunteered’ instead of my ‘paid employee Club Administrator’ hat on, I’ve stepped up to run the catering for the Radlett Open tournament next week.
I’ll still need to fit in my office hours as Melissa will be on Annual Leave, so would really welcome some help with the making and serving of drinks, snacks and food.
We are serving breakfast (bacon and sausage baguettes) from 8am to 10.30am, lunch (salads, sandwiches, jacket spuds) from 12pm to 2.30pm, snacks, drinks and toasties all day until about 6pm.
These are the gaps I currently have:
Sunday 5th 12pm – 3pm, 1pm – 4pm, 3pm – 6pm
Monday 6th 12pm – 3pm, 3pm – 6pm
Tuesday 7th 9am – 12pm, 12pm – 3pm
Wednesday 8th 8am – 11am, 12pm – 3pm, 1pm – 4pm, 3pm – 6pm
Thursday 9th 9am -12pm, 11am – 2pm, 12pm – 3pm
Friday 10th 1pm – 4pm
We need people courtside to be the eyes and ears for our tournament referee.
You’ll oversee 3 courts, reporting via walkie-talkie when matches are finishing and if there are unresolved player disputes.
Full training will be given so don’t worry if you’ve never done this kind of thing before, you just need a good knowledge of the rules of tennis.
Thank you in anticipation
Jeanette and Jordan
