Chairman’s New Year Message

Happy New Year to you all.

It was great to see so many of you at our Xmas party . A big thank you to Suzi Lynch, her team and all of the entertainers for making it a superb evening.

Now we are in 2018 I wanted to update you :

Towards the end of 2017 we carried out some marketing research within the community to see what people would like from the club. The initial results proved very interesting with key information including:

• Difficult to find new member information on the website.
• When we come down who do we speak to.
• We do not have time to join a club but would like to play just once a week and have a lesson.

We will continue to increase our community marketing in 2018 and are working closely with the Parish Council.
I will continue to engage with the Parish Council on the question of access and try to work with The Radlett Village Institute. I will continue to see how we can make even better use of our land and try to open up the Piggeries.

We are finalising a grant with Sports England for a tennis/multi surface facility improvement.

We are working with the LTA and the Council to upgrade our Tennis floodlights, and the renewal of tennis courts 7-9 plus potential mini courts.

Jordan is continuing to increase regular Squash and Tennis events for all levels and would appreciate your input to tailor events that suit you all.

We will be holding our usual closed Tennis and Squash tournaments, plus the Herts Squash Tournament and the Radlett Grade 3 Tennis tournament which was agreed at the Tennis meeting in November.

Our Club open day will be held on the weekend of the 12-13 May. Our Tournaments and Open Day will be run by our Coaching team , who will be looking for helpers.

Ahead of the AGM the Committee will be sending out a Survey to all members to gauge members views on whether all Adult Tennis and Squash members should be full members and pay the same subscription. Squash Court lighting would be free of charge as long as courts booked are used. The survey will be used by the Committee to formalise its Membership Proposal for voting on at the AGM...

I have a great deal of support from our committee and the club office. Members run teams and historically many members have contributed their time. However now more than ever we are struggling to get members to step forward to help. Currently I am looking for a member to help supervise club maintenance and subscriptions, membership and marketing. We continue to look for a junior representative. Please email me for more information. I assure you it does not have to become a burden!

In 2017 we carried out a great deal of work on the Club house. I would like your feedback on possible further improvements to the bar and the “club room”

We will continue to offer Social and Competitive Tennis and Squash for both Juniors and Adults.

Lastly the Committee always look to improve the offering to its members and currently we are assessing if there is sufficient interest for Pilates to be held at the Club. Please do come forward with any more suggestions to help improve the experience for all!

If you have any questions or feedback please email me at
Thank you
