SQUASH UPDATE:
Double delight at Hertfordshire Squash Championships!
Both of our teams had amazing victories at the recent Hertfordshire Squash Championships, winning both the Senior Cup and Junior Cup.
The event was incredibly successful and ran at full capacity, with 80 people in attendance. RLTSC had three representatives (Lee Rossiter, Nick Rossiter and Joe Green) playing for Herts who regained the national champion title. Jillian Lilico also represented Herts in the Ladies team.

Events for April
We enjoyed a busy April, with many great events including some spectacular exhibitions. Thanks to all who played and attended.
This month’s Speed Squash event was held in honour of Mark Roycroft’s retirement as Squash chairman and as an appreciation from all who are involved with squash at the club to Mark’s achievements over the last three years.
The event went down to the wire with the ‘Blue’ team managing to win it in the last game. Fittingly, Player of the tournament rightfully went to Mark Roycroft (pictured above) who secured the win for his team.
Head coach Lee Rossiter said: “I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Mark for supporting me over the last three years, and together we have managed to move Radlett in the position that it is.
“Secondly, a big thanks to Otis for helping keep track of scores during the event and, of course, to Rui for coming down and putting on a great exhibition against the first team.
"I look forward to running another similar event soon and will keep you posted on WhatsApp." (new group link here):

Congratulations to the Blue team for winning this month’s event.
The Racquetball event was another great success. Big thank you to Luke Bishop (UK no. 1 - pictured above) for coming down and playing the members, as well as the exhibition against our head coach Lee Rossiter.
The Adaptive handicap tournament did not run this month but will be back for next month.
Socials
• Monday night social squash continues to be fully booked every week
• Racketball is in high demand. The group sessions are running every Tuesday at 9.45am which is now showing a higher demand with drills and games and 6.45pm (all levels are welcome).
Squash Summer Teams recruitment
We are looking for players for our summer teams which will be starting in the second week of May. If you’re interested in playing, please contact Lee or one of our team captains.
TENNIS UPDATE:
External tennis events in 2025
A reminder that RLTSC is hosting:
· a Regional Fast Four tennis tournament will be taking place at the club over the weekend of Saturday, May 17th and Sunday, May 18th. This regional tournament is of an extremely high standard and will use tennis courts 1 to 4 only from 11am to 5pm on each day. That does, though, mean that Saturday Adult Social at 2pm will have 5 courts (courts 5, 6, 7, 8, 9) and Sunday morning Social will only have two courts (courts 5 and 6) from 11am-12noon.
We are after more volunteers in the kitchen please from 11am to 2pm to serve tea/coffee and toasties. Please let Jo Rickless (07870 666829) know if you can help.
Please come down to watch the fantastic tennis on show.
· Herts Schools finals – Monday 23rd June - Nicola Mabbitt Trophy. This finals day will use all 9 astro courts from 9am to 3.30pm.
· Radlett Open Grade 3 – Our annual Grade 3 tournament will run from Sunday 3rd August to Saturday 9th August inclusive. This year the tournament will likely have full use of courts 1-9 inclusive, as we did last year.
============
Volunteers always appreciated!
Our club is run by members who volunteer their time. Some of the General Committee have been in post for a few years and it is always good to ring the changes to bring new ideas. If any member is interested in becoming Tennis Chair, then please contact the office (admin@rltsc.co.uk) who will arrange for you to find out more about the role.
