JULY NEWSLETTER

A very warm welcome to the latest edition of RLTSC News – your regular members’ round-up of all the latest tennis, squash and social news.

MEMBERS’ DAY – Saturday, July 12

Our 2025 Members’ Day will be held on Saturday, July 12, starting around 1pm.

It has become tradition at the club to have a Members’ Day, to take advantage of the nicer weather and bring families together for an afternoon at the club.

Our tennis coaches have kindly agreed to run various activities for members and their children, and there will be opportunities to play some squash and racketball.

There will also be a free BBQ available on the day, music and the bar will, of course, be open. Please register your attendance through this link:

TENNIS UPDATE:

ANNUAL GRADE 3 TOURNAMENT – VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

The Club is hosting the Annual Grade 3 Tennis Tournament from Sunday, August 3 to 9. During this period, courts 1 to 9 will be in use for the tournament all day, but we will inform members via a daily email, if courts become available in the evening. Please put these dates in your diary. Courts 10 and 11 remain open for members.

This tournament has been very successful over the past few years, but we need the continued support from our members to assist during the week. We are looking for six catering volunteers per day on a rota to help make toasties and hot drinks.

We also require two on-court supervisors on a rota system on Sunday 3rd and Saturday 9th August between 10am-4pm. Support will be provided by qualified tournament referees each day.

If you are available to help, please add your name in the time slot on the schedule outside the kitchen in the club house.

All volunteers will be entered into a draw for a free tennis lesson. Your assistance is greatly appreciated to make this event a great success for the club.

ADULT GROUPS CONTINUING THROUGH THE SUMMER

Our Tennis School is coming to an end for the summer, but our Adult groups will be continuing throughout the summer period, so don’t miss out on your tennis fix and book on to our sessions to keep your playing level as high as ever.

Well played to everyone last night - another fully booked-out event.

We saw a great performance from the red team (pictured below), taking the win with 252 points.

Well played to our POT - Joe Green, never beaten and least amount of points ever conceded!

Thanks to Otis and Mark for helping Lee run the latest event. Also to our new sponsors for the electrolytes, so any questions on that please don’t hesitate to contact him on 07909 755432.
