September saw our annual club tournament come to an end with our Finals Day.

A great morning and afternoon of tennis from all events was greeted with the final results for the year:

TENNIS SCHOOL
Our tennis school is back up and running and has been well attended so far, despite the weather starting to fade into the more autumnal and winter months.
There is still time to book on to sessions if you haven’t already done so. For more information on what sessions we have running through the week, please visit the club website for all information.

HOLIDAY CAMPS
Our Holiday Camps return in the October half-term and are now able to book through the club website. Book now to avoid missing out, with plenty of Halloween-themed activities planned for the week!

NEW DOUBLES’ COMPETITION
New club doubles’ tournaments have already been planned to be added for next year, with the first event of the year coinciding with the Australian Open grand slam, followed by a French Open grand slam tournament. Keep an eye out on the tournaments section on the mycourts page for information on date of the event and when entries open.

TEAM TENNIS UPDATE:
Congratulations to Radlett Ladies 2, captained by Fizz, for securing the runners-up spot this season to seal promotion to Division 4a next season.

WINTER TENNIS LEAGUE
Winter league tennis matches are imminent. Players who would like to play need to let captains know as soon as possible:

Mens: Kevin O'Sullivan (o45s), Andy Willimott (o55s), Simon Spalter (o55s), David Gilbert  (o65s)

Ladies: Laura Illingworth (o40s), Aileen Barber (o50sA), Yvonne Agha (o50sB), Alison Argyle (o60s), Sheila Campbell (Batchwood midweek matches)


INTERNAL DOUBLES LEAGUE
The next internal mixed doubles league will be changing its format and moving to a ladder style. If anyone wishes to join need to submit their name no later than October 26.

Team Squash – Radlett Club League Participation
Radlett Squash Club is proud to compete in both the Hertfordshire (Divisions 1–3) and Middlesex (Divisions 1–2) leagues this season, fielding five competitive teams. We encourage all members to come along, support our teams, and enjoy the lively atmosphere at the bar and social events.

JUNIOR SQUASH
It has been a busy and successful start to the new season for Radlett juniors:

The season opened with a Radlett Charity Graded tournament on August 31. There were 51 entries, helping to raise £200 for Cardiac Risk in the Young. Over the years, we have held 115 charity graded tournaments, raising a total of just over £15,500. Well done to the following Radlett players who were group winners: Jaxon R, Muska S, Hugh P and Danny P with runners-up Edwin W, Kian K, Samuel H and Dan M. The next two charity tournaments are on November 23 and December 21.


On September 6 the annual Herts U9/U11 County Championships were once again held at Radlett, attracting 28 juniors from Herts clubs including 11 from Radlett. Initially, matches were played on a league basis before moving to the knockout stages.

Congratulations to Muska S (U9) and Henry F (U11) who became county champions, as well as Kian K (U9 runner-up), Kieran S (U9 3rd), Samuel H (U9 4th), Jacob H (U11 runner-up) and Lili P (U11 3rd).

The Herts U13/15/17/19 County Championships were held at Nuffield St Albans over the weekend of September 13-14. There were 14 Radlett entries out of 59 from seven clubs. All the finals were held on the Sunday, with Radlett players winning a fantastic four county titles.

Well done to Ellie P (U15 winner), Amber H and Hugh P (U17 winners) and Harry F (U19 winner) along with Rafa P and Henry F (U13 Plate runners-up), Caitlin O'K (U17 4th), Jimi O (U17 Plate runner-up), Hasan J (U19 3rd), Jake H (U19 4th) and Dan M (U19 Plate winner).

Regular Sunday afternoon junior sessions take place from 2.30-3.30 (U12s) and 3.30-5.00 (U13-U19). The club is always looking for new members of any age and standard (including those who haven't played squash before), please contact Organiser Julian Craxton on 07711 748557 for more information.


SOCIAL UPDATE

It is back to Quizness at Radlett!
We have pleasure to invite you to our latest quiz night on Friday, October 24, start time of 7.45pm.

It looks to be an exciting evening, so get your quizzing caps on and book today. This is open to members and non-members.

Included in your ticket price of £15 per person will include a fish and chip supper or vegetable spring roll and chips.
