SQUASH UPDATE:

Women’s Squash Session Smashes Success – Join Us for the Next One on January 8!

Last Thursday, RLTSC served up the first fantastic Women’s Beginner and Improver Squash Session—this time with seven women hitting the courts, including four new players giving squash a go for the very first time.

Our brilliant coach, Jillian Lilico, British Masters Champion, once again brought her winning ways to the group. Jillian’s energy, clear coaching, and champion mindset had everyone improving their movement, sharpening their serves, and — most importantly — enjoying the game. Whether it was mastering basic technique or stepping up to more tactical rally play, every participant left buzzing.

The atmosphere was supportive, energetic, and fun — everything our women’s sessions are all about. If you’re thinking about picking up a new sport, returning after a break, or simply want to kick off your 2025 goals early, this is your moment.

Next Women’s Session: Wednesday 8 January

The perfect New Year kickstart — no experience needed!

Bring your trainers (obviously your non-marking shoes), bring your enthusiasm, and Jillian will bring the magic.

Spaces will go quickly—don’t miss out!

Book your session here:

TENNIS UPDATE:

MACCABIAH APPOINTMENT

Some exciting news … and we hope you join us in congratulating Danny Caro following his appointment as team manager of the Great Britain Masters Tennis squad at next summer’s Maccabiah Games in Israel.

Danny has been selected to represent his country at the Games for the fifth time. He will link up with co-manager Caroline Clapper to lead the Masters, and Danny will also be joined in the GB squad by his son, Jacob, who will compete in the Open Tennis tournament for the first time.

Held every four years, the Maccabiah Games unites Jewish athletes worldwide in a prestigious multi-sports arena. Nicknamed ‘the Jewish Olympics,’ the 2026 Games will feature in the region of 8,500 athletes from 80 nations competing in 30 sports. The event is also recognised as the second largest sports event globally, after the Olympic Games.

The Maccabiah celebrates Jewish unity, athletic excellence and a deep connection to Israel. Former players that have competed in the Tennis events include Angela Buxton, American Brad Gilbert, Chilean Davis Cup star Nicholas Massu, Julie Heldman, Allen Fox and Dick Savitt – the only Jewish player to have ever won the Men’s Singles title at Wimbledon.

The Maccabiah is open to Jewish athletes competing in Junior, Open and Masters’ categories.

Danny is now starting a recruitment push and welcomes any qualifying RLTSC members interested in joining the squad for what he describes as “the experience of a lifetime”.

The 2026 Maccabiah Games runs from June 28 to July 14, including an Opening Ceremony in Jerusalem in front of an estimated 40,000 spectators.

For further details, please email Danny at dannycaro@hotmail.co.uk.
