The Tennis Committee wish to adopt a different format for this year’s Closed Club Tennis Tournament to encourage more members to participate in the tournament. The actual modus operandi will depend on the number of entrants, but it is envisaged that the whole event will run over one weekend (15/16 September). The Saturday will comprise of short set, round robin type matches at allocated times, with semi finals and finals running on Sunday 16th September. Members will be encouraged to bring their family along, with food available and the bar open. Prizes will be ongoing throughout the day.
So we get an idea of potential entrants, and therefore scale of the tournament, please could you send an email to the office by August 7th, indicating which events you would like (or are eligible!) to enter. The tournament will comprise of:
1. Mens’ Singles & Doubles
2. Ladies’ Singles & Doubles
3. Mixed Doubles
4. Over 45 Mens’ & Ladies’ Doubles
5. Over 60 Mens’ & Ladies’ Doubles
The entry costs will be advised but will not be prohibitive,
